Online Christmas Party on December 16, 2020

Weihnachten 2020

Every year again! On Wednesday, December 16, 2020 at 7 pm our Ethno-Christmas party took place. As in previous years, it was organized by the student council. Conducted as a videoconference, students and lecturers were able to spend a cozy evening together again this year and exchange ideas in smaller groups and in plenary about the current situation, Christmas and much more. We would like to take this opportunity to thank the student council for their creative ideas and all those who joined in the festivities! Merry Christmas and a good start into the new year!

Marketplace and Poster Presentation by the Center for Medicine and Society on December 2, 2020 (online)

The Center for Medicine and Society (ZMG) organized an online marketplace on 02/12/2020, from 17:00 to 19:00, to present posters on ongoing or planned projects in the field of Global/Planetary/Urban Health.

The posters can be found at: https://www.zmg.uni-freiburg.de/en/Nachrichten-en/marktplatz

We hope that this will lead to new transdisciplinary collaborations within the framework of the ZMG and further participation in the Global Urban Health (GUH) international postgraduate program. The ZMG's focus on "Planetary Health" aims to point to recovery processes of all life on Earth, i.e., to focus on the interconnections between human health, political, economic, and socio-cultural dynamics, and the natural systems of our planet. The current pandemic makes the urgency of relational thinking and action particularly clear, and we hope to respond in new constellations.

Digital Round Table on July 7, 2020

This year, the student council organized a very special round table: on Tuesday, July 7, 2020 from 10-12 am, students, lecturers and institute staff met online (via video conference) for the first time. After a short presentation of the survey results, the students entered into an open conversation with the lecturers of our institute to discuss challenges in the (digital) daily study routine as well as to contribute wishes and new ideas for the common institute life and teaching.
