Profile
David Meschede is researcher and PhD candidate within the research project “A Future without Forest? Future-Making, Environmental Change and Socio-Economic Transformation Processes in East Kalimantan, Indonesia”. Since 2023 this project is attached to the University of Freiburg. His particular research interests are the island of Borneo and its indigenous ethnic groups collectively known as the Dayak. Thematic interests are human-environmental relations in rural areas, social and cultural change since the end of colonialism and questions of ethnic identity.
