Bachelor of Arts: Major
General Information
The B.A. programme in Social and Cultural Anthropology at the Department of Social and Cultural Anthropology in Freiburg is characterised by not only providing students with a well-founded subject-specific and methodological basic knowledge, but also ensuring (or demanding) a high degree of independence and opening up diverse elective options. In particular, the project-based component in the 5th semester gives students the opportunity to gain practical experience abroad and acquire intercultural skills. Here, students can either carry out a field research project or do an internship in a country of their choice and evaluate it academically, or they can study at another university for one semester. They thus have the opportunity to develop an individual profile regionally and in terms of content, which they can first put into practice in their Bachelor's thesis and which will subsequently be of great use to them either in an immediate career entry or in a postgraduate Master's programme.
If you have any questions about the study programme, please contact the B.A. study coordinator Dr. Mechthild von Vacano: ba-koordination@ska.uni-freiburg.de
