Herzlich Willkommen! Gastwissenschaftlerin Dr. Phil. Dewi Candraningrum

 
We warmly welcome visiting scholar Dewi Candraningrum to the Department of Social and Cultural Anthropology. She will stay with us for two months, funded by the DAAD Alumni Program.

Dewi Candraningrum is a lecturer at the Universitas Muhammadiyah, Surakarta, Indonesia with an expertise on gender and intersectionality in literature, education, religion, and ecology. She is lead editor of the book series EKOFEMINISME which is published in Indonesian. She is also founder of a community initiative in Central Java called Jejer Wadon (Womb Document) and chief editor of the feminist journal SALASIKA. In her leisure time she loves painting and exhibits her paintings such as the portraits of the North Mt Kendeng Women Ecological Defenders at Onca Gallery in Brighton together with her disabled son.
