Herzlich Willkommen! Gastwissenschaftler Dr. Anusa Damion

Wir begrüßen Anusa Daimon herzlich am Institut für Ethnologie. Er wird für 18 Monate bei uns bleiben, als Forschungsstipendiat des Instituts, gefördert von der Alexander von Humboldt-Stiftung.


We warmly welcome Anusa Daimon to the Department of Social and Cultural Anthropology. He will stay with us for 18 months, as a research fellow with the Institut fur Ethnologie, funded by the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation.

Anusa Daimon is a lecturer at the Chancellor College, University of Malawi in Zomba, Malawi and also a Research Associate with the International Studies Group (ISG) at the University of the Free State, Bloemfontein, South Africa. A transnational scholar, whose research scope transcends Malawian, Zimbabwean, Mozambican and South African geo-spatial frontiers, Anusa’s research interests include migration, labour, state politics, ethnic minorities, citizenship, statelessness, borders and borderlands in southern Africa. He has published on the aforementioned themes in numerous refereed journals and has also worked closely with the Harry Guggenheim Foundation; the American Council of Learned Societies - African Humanities Program (AHP); the Social Science Research Council - African Peacebuilding Network (APN); and the Amnesty International, Zimbabwe. For his fellowship stay in Germany, Anusa will be working on the impact of the 2008 African Union Border Program on Malawian and Mozambican borderland communities.
